: Manager, Test Engineering

Reporting to the Director, Engineering, the Manager, Test Engineering will be responsible for building expanded test programs within the company to meet the needs of Angstrom’s ongoing micro fuel cell research, product development and commercialization efforts.
The test programs will include:
- R&D lab component and engineering prototype verification testing.
- Component and system Qualification, Accelerated Stress and Lifetime testing.
- Establishing the Test Strategy, Plans and Infrastructure to support manufacturing from early manual production through alpha all the way into volume production.
- Certification/qualification testing (e.g. UN, UL, FCC, CSA, TUV, ISO IEC, etc.)
- Formalizes the test strategy, test programs and procedures to support the development of Angstrom’s fuel cell products through alpha and beta production into volume manufacturing.
- Designs and implements test programs and procedures to improve the test coverage, yields and quality of the fuel cell component and systems.
- Leads the design, assembly and operation of test equipment and fixtures for all levels of component and product qualification testing.
- Coordinates the development of the test support documentation for the training of internal and/or outsourced manufacturing personnel.
- Manages the test engineers and technicians.
- Degree or diploma in electronics, instrumentation or mechanical engineering, 6-10 years experience in instrumentation/testing related discipline
- Experience with electronic instrumentation, data acquisition and data management .
- Familiarity with fuel cell technology including fuel cells, fuel storage and balance of plant components, familiarity with conventional fuel cell test equipment an asset.
- A working knowledge of LabVIEW programming and DIAdem data analysis and reporting will be an asset.
- Familiarity with Six-sigma an asset
- Ability to prioritize, plan, and carry out the activities required to deliver safe, reliable, and compelling technical solutions and procedures.
- Demonstrated supervisory skills.
- Excellent ability to communicate ideas both orally and in writing.
- Demonstrated flexibility and ability to lead and adapt to change in a fast-paced environment.
