The Regulatory Engineer will assist Angstrom in leading the ongoing development of international regulations and standards as required to commercialize Micro Hydrogen™ technology on a global scale. The Regulatory Engineer is responsible for contributing to the development of critical standards and regulatory requirements. In addition, the Regulatory Engineer will work with other teams within Angstrom to ensure prototypes and products are in compliance with the standards and regulations so as not to impede the commercialization of the technology. This function extends to all aspects of Angstrom product technology including on-board fuel cell power sources for portable applications, portable refueling devices and larger scale infrastructure technologies for device refueling.

Responsibilities:

  • Participates in development of safety standards, including ISO, IEC, and CGA
  • Participates in international, US, Canadian, Japanese and European regulatory development
  • Implements standards / regulatory roadmaps for new devices related to refueling and infrastructure
  • Implements plans for compliance testing of Angstrom devices
  • Provides general program management support
 
 
Qualifications:

    • Knowledge of hydrogen safety standards, codes and regulations
    • Experience in safety and compliance testing
    • Familiarity with International Standards Development, preferably related to safety
    • Familiarity with Dangerous Goods regulations, with processes for changing regulations and definition of best practise
    • Good people skills, patience, skill and diplomacy to work productively in a highly politicized environment
    • Willingness to travel
    • Excellent oral and written communication
    • Engineering or other technical degree
