Paul Zimmerman joins as CEO. Dr. Ake Almgren becomes Chairman
2006-05-01 - The Board of Directors of Angstrom Power announced today that it has appointed Paul Zimmerman as chief executive officer (CEO) and Dr. Ake Almgren as Chairman of the Board. Both appointments are effective June 1st.
Angstrom Power's current Chairman Dr. Wal van Lierop, said: "Paul's appointment adds new capabilities to our already strong team. His background is an ideal complement to the technical and strategic skills of Dr. Ged McLean and Dr. Almgren."
Mr. Zimmerman will join Angstrom Power from Oregon Scientific, Inc., a consumer electronics firm based in Portland, Oregon, where he will continue to serve as President until May 31. Previously Mr. Zimmerman was a managing director of Softbank Asia Infrastructure Fund based in Hong Kong. Before that he was general manager of the WWL Business Unit of Samsung Group's Information and Telecommunications Division. Mr. Zimmerman has a B.A.Sc in electric engineering and computer science, University of Toronto, and M.B.A. from the International Institute of Management Development (IMD), Lausanne, Switzerland.
